Weddings…Who pays for what…

 

The following is a list of the traditional wedding roles where money is concerned, but there are no strict rules.

It is quite common for family and friends to help in many areas so as part of your planning, discuss the arrangements and organise them to suit your own needs:

Bride’s Parents:
Bride’s dress.
Bridesmaids’ dresses (although they often buy their own)
Cars – except for the groom and Best Man.
Photography
Video
Wedding stationery.
Flowers for the church and reception
Toastmaster
Cake
Entertainment

Bride:
Groom’s wedding ring and present

Groom:
Arranges the honeymoon
Bride’s engagement and wedding rings.
Church & Legal fees.
Choir / Bell ringers’ / Organist fees
Flowers for the bride and bridesmaids
Flowers for both mothers.
Buttonholes for his attendants and guests.
Car for himself and Best man to ceremony
Car for himself and Bride to the reception.
Gifts for the Bride, Bridesmaids, Best man and Ushers
Honeymoon.
