Your Wedding Stationery

Whether you are having a formal or informal wedding, large or small, it is always necessary to send out invitation and these should reflect the basic style of your wedding.

It’s advisable to send out invitations in good time, the recommend period is around 12 weeks before the date but it’s wise to think about the distance, type of guests that will be coming. When I say type, I mean specifically those that always seem to be late for events (you know what I mean).  Several points should be bourne in mind as you may well find it necessary to send them a good deal earlier.

– If you are getting married during the summer holiday period (and this is the popular time) it is advisable to give you guests plenty of notice in order to avoid conflicting with their holiday arrangements
– You caterer may need certain amount of prior notice of final numbers attending.
– Guests coming from afar may have to organise transport and accommodation.

if you are ordering stationary, allow 2 to 4 weeks from the time you place your order. Before you place your order, make sure you have all the details required: quantities, dates and times, church and reception details.
Here is a stationery checklist

Before the wedding –
Invitations: usually send to guests about 2 weeks before the wedding
Evening invitations: If you are having a party after the reception, special invitations will be needed
Reply cards: These will encourage guests to reply promptly to your invitation
Orders of service – Consult with your vicar and allow one for each guest

At the reception –
Place cards: These are necessary so that guests can easily find their place at the reception
Serviettes : The names of the bride and groom and the date of the wedding can be printed on these
Scrolls – These can convey a personal thank you message to all your guests

Showing your appreciation
Thank you cards and Bridal notepaper – To complete e the occasion, you can thank the guests for their wedding presents on notepaper and cards printed with your address
